Never Trust Politicians

In my opinion, politics is just an arena open for all persons willing to exploit their political strength. These people are better referred to as politicians. Being a politician must not necessarily mean that you are a true leader. This goes to all citizens taking part in the democratic process of voting. You should get to differentiate between a true leader and a cunning politician. A true leader is a good hearted leader whose interest is manifested in the public. A politician is a cunning person whose politicking is able to lure gullible voters into voting for them. In many circumstances, such cunning politicians always disappear into thin air after being elected. 

This is driven by their selfless interest. Interestingly, these politicians who always insults themselves in public and even incite their diehard supporters against themselves will always join hands to loot public funds(corruption). In such a situation, the looting will not come into limelight. This also suggest the country's decay when the opposition is absent since there will be no oversight on spending public funds. Though some organizations are tasked to investigate and uncover corruption, it is shocking that they are compromised to cover such illegal activities.

A good leader will always be transparent and accountable to the public.

Transparent: Their activities in the offices they hold are public, clear and easy to understand.

Accountable: They should be able to give details on every spending of funds meant for the public.

Unfortunately, ignorance is the main problem affecting the citizens. After electing these leaders, they make assumptions that they will perform as they had stated during campaigns. It is because promises given to these unsuspecting citizens are meant to attract their votes. If citizens are serious with these leaders, they may always spot a corrupt leader. An through a legal process, they can do away with such leaders.

Personally, I think poverty bar people from performing their democratic right. This is because politicians take advantage of this to bribe them which force them to run out of options but to vote for these corrupt leaders. From this, with an explanation, I am forced to lament that democracy is for the rich. This is because I think wealthy people cannot be bribed easily. But still these wealthy people can be promised slots in the government which will force them deem their support.

Bribery is mainly meant for poor unsuspecting citizens who will always tag themselves with their political bigwigs. These people are better referred to as diehard supporters. They are always ready to die for politicians. The sad side is when politicians clinch their seats, they will always forget such supporters. This means that voters should be wise in this tricky platform.

In a nutshell, it is high time for people to be wise and know that it is their democratic right to have political preference but they should not forget that politicians always have their personal interest.
